Nice little neighborhood place they do have some outdoor seating perfect for this time of year and Covid circumstances...food very good not a gigantic menu but that's what makes it just right....looking for a quiet laid back casual meal & place this will do just fine

Class act and great food. Had a last minute request to order some photo for take-out on a trip from New Haven to NYC for a special occasion/surprise event for family (to make up for a cancelled wedding in Portugal). Owner Manuel Teixeira went out of way to help out, suggesting good choices of food to bring to the event and even gave us a delicious special of Carne de Porco alentejana. The food was ready right on time and someone even helped get everything into the car. The food was delicious and enjoyed by even the pickiest Portuguese. Terrific experience - will go back some time when the Covid crisis abates and eat at the restaurant itself. Obrigado!
We've been to the restaurant once or twice a year with friends for the last several years. It's always been a fun time in an intimate setting, excellent food, generous portions and great sangria.
Just love these Portuguese restaurant. A little hole-in-the-wall but it has the best Portuguese food. Joao my favorite waiter, he is the best. He is all about serving taking care of you making sure you get nothing but the best.
In the hollow of Bridgeport one can find this restaurant. For those from the old neighborhood can identify the building as the old Oakview Tavern. Oh my has it changed!! The tavern is now a restaurant serving Portuguese food and I would highly recommend it. Food was delicious and tasty.
The tavern is now a restaurant serving Portuguese food and I would highly recommend it. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted warmly by the owner! We ordered the paella and it was fabulous. Two others in our party ordered Portuguese steak and a pork dish. Must try.
They offer excellent seafood dishes and daily specials! If you have any questions make sure you call and contact the owner manny! He's been doing it for 36 years and doing it well!Authentic Portuguese food!!!!! Come for a coffee, a drink or dinner! Has an outdoor patio for nice evenings and cozy dining room for the chilly nights.
